What is Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that uses breast implants to increase the size, shape, or fullness of a woman’s breasts. The surgery involves making incisions and placing silicone or saline implants to make the appearance more aesthetically pleasing. On average, breast augmentation surgery takes one to two hours to complete.

Types of Breast Augmentation

Silicone gel implants are a popular choice for breast augmentation due to their natural look and feel. Modern silicone is highly durable and less likely to rupture, making it a preferred option for many patients. While slightly more expensive than saline implants, silicone’s superior shape retention and overall performance often outweigh the cost difference.

Saline implants are filled with sterile saltwater and offer several benefits, including safety due to their easily absorbable nature. They’re customizable in size and more affordable than silicone implants. However, they may have a higher risk of rippling and may not feel as natural as silicone.
